January 1st is the day that, traditionally, we dare ourselves.
The 1st of January of 2013 I decided to start drawing daily for a year. No excuses. I hadn’t draw for a long time and I really wanted to.
In the beginning, I was thinking about doing very simple sketches (no more than 15 minutes from the idea to finish the drawing)
But I got hooked.
It become the biggest project of my life.
The project is over, but you can re-experience it thanks to the magic of computer programming. When I started I really didn't know what I was doing. My first drawing took me 10 minutes -- fast forward some months and you could see me absorbed by the project: a drawing took some days to be finished.
Levels of polishing evolved as time passed. As well as what I was telling. In the end these are not 365 individual and unconnected drawings, but more a sucession of thoughts and feelings that somehow define the world around me. If that's of interested or not... I will let the public decide.
You can receive 1 drawing each day in your inbox. You can re-experience my year drawing starting today (or tomorrow, or... you get it). No ads, your email is safe, unsubscribe any time (but... why would you ever want to do that?)
Thanks to this project I discovered that this is what I wanted to do with my time in life.
So I left my job.
Now I draw, trying to earn some money to make a living. And I'm considering the super-crazy concept of people paying me if they enjoy my drawings, so I can keep doing them, in a donation economy spirit.
